hey, this has absolutely nothing to do with your post [almost] and i’m sorry for it, but my homework for political systems was to ask five people their definition of government. i only have a few lines, just to… let you know. but i wanted to ask you because… i don’t know. you’re someone i consider to be politically active and knowledgable and so would have a good … basis to come up with an acceptable definition.
I’m assuming you want a general definitition of government. I’d say it’s the formal structure that determines policies, direction and laws of a community (nation, state, city, village, etc.)
“State” should be replaced with territory. I was thinking in terms of America, but for the rest of the world there are different categories such as provinces.
