Canada won’t join missile defence plan
Bravo.
Although Prime Minister Paul Martin said Canada would “insist” on maintaining control of its airspace, U.S. ambassador Paul Cellucci warned that Washington would not be constrained.
“We will deploy. We will defend North America,” he said.
“We simply cannot understand why Canada would in effect give up its sovereignty – its seat at the table – to decide what to do about a missile that might be coming towards Canada.”

So basicly the U.S. is saying a big fuck you to Canada, saying they’ll invade our airspace or do whatever they please.

It’s the best news I’ve heard in a long time : )
I’m glad a positive stand was taken on the issue.
we knew americans stance long ago if we agreed or disagreed. its not really a surprise.
Of course. This tone, however, suggests a blatant disregard for Canadian airspace in general.
I was very happy. However–why do they speak like our sovereignty is on the tip of their fingers? What can they do about it?
I fear annexation. Slow, gradual, passive-aggressive, annexation. Fuck America!
Annexation may be hard once America falls from superpower status in the next 20 years.
I love what happens when America panics.
