Food

I’d like to do some cooking / baking  tomorrow, so hit me with some recipes.

Anything (without meat) goes.

  1. i like to make heath bar cake.

make a chocolate cake (boxed kind is fine, but if you’d rather do homemade, that’s cool).

take it out of the oven and let it cool maybe 10 minutes. poke holes in the top with the small end of a wooden spoon or something about the diameter of a pen/pencil. pour a jar of caramel ice cream/sundae topping over it and let it soak in. while it’s still warm, pour a bag of heath bar pieces on top.

so yummy. i make it for my family reunion every year.

  2. ooh! something else good…asparagus roll ups. i don’t have the recipie nearby, but here’s the gist:

flatten some bread w/a rolling pin (whole wheat = yummy).
spread enough cream cheese on each slice of bread to just cover it.
place one or two stalks of asparagus (canned or fresh) on each piece of bread and roll up. you might find that loading up one side of the bread w/the cream cheese helps them stick.
melt some butter and brush on top.
toast in the oven at 350 until they’re golden on top.

    so good. 🙂

  3. not really cooking but i love this for a quick lunch:

1 piece pita bread lightly toasted in oven spread with roasted red pepper hummus, spicy alfalfa sprouts, thinly sliced cucumber, tomato, (pretty much any veg you fancy). fold over and enjoy!
