My Weekly Music Chart

  1. I suggest trying Last.FM. You can use your Audioscrobbler account if you still have it. Once you have listened for a little while it will customize itself to your tastes and play a whole lot of music you like. It hardly ever plays anything bad for me but still gives me new stuff to hear. You can search for artists you like and then listen to the profiles of people who listen to similar music as well. It’s a brilliant idea and I’ve been using it a lot.

Plus, you still get nifty charts like I have. πŸ˜‰

  2. That is a shame to get albums like that. I find it’s even worse when the same happens with books (I used to really like one author until he started preaching Rand and materialism through his stories – he really went too far when he condemned a peaceful society for being pacifists and made it seem “fair” for them to be enslaved and have terrible things done to women because they didn’t wish to fight with an invading army).

lol Damn you and your dropped roses!

  3. It was quite terrible. I really enjoyed his first 4 or 5 books and then this came along, so I looked up some about him and he’d been putting sick allusions into his stories all along. In one story he had two politicians that were unsavoury that he based on Bill and Hillary, twisting their personalities and making them look absolutely immoral. Needless to say, I didn’t get his newest book.

  4. *drops a postit note that says “Very, very broken!”*

I found that on the banquet floor here at the hotel and found it very, very amusing. I want to wear it over my heart in a show of tragic irony. πŸ˜‰

  5. It’s been a while since we last had an LJ conversation of this length. It’s not lacking in profundity at all. God, isn’t profundity a great word? It just sounds so awkward and made up, yet it isn’t.

I still think we need a warning system, a “Put down your drink” notice when something is potentially funny. πŸ˜‰

I think I just might take a photo after my next round if I was smart enough to repack my camera.

  6. I’ve enjoyed the conversation too. I’m all for coffee-house conversation, and I don’t think it’s crappy at all. We’ve talked about some interesting things.

Yeah, I doubt I could live up to Bush’s misunderspeaking if I had all the time in Texas.

Ok, so should we use colors like the terrorist warning system? Dark brown for the worst (coffee stains) and maybe a lighter color for slight sprays?

I’m looking for the camera right now… I forgot it in the bag I took to the interview. I’ll try to remember it for tomorrow.

  7. I’m sure they’ve gotten a lot of requests for searching. Maybe they’ll start work on it now that they have more resources (LJ was bought by another company).

  8. Well, an unexpected event could still have a warning, as long as we remember to put one before it. That’s the challenge, not letting those terrorist-like bits of humour sneak past the warning system. πŸ˜‰ Otherwise we’ll have drink-spray of mass destruction! DMD’s?
