The Greatest Benefit Song Ever!

Do They Know It’s Halloween?

BOO! This fall’s sweetest – and scariest – benefit song is DO THEY KNOW IT’S HALLOWE’EN. This single features a star-studded ensemble known as the NORTH AMERICAN HALLOWEEN PREVENTION INITIATIVE. Both a trick and a treat, this song is a satire – as well as a charity-benefit song with all proceeds being donated to UNICEF.

An epic journey into the pulsating heart of fear, this song is a call-to-arms featuring:
Beck
Sum 41
The Arcade Fire
Sonic Youth
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Sloan
Peaches
Feist
Devendra Banhart
Wolf Parade
Postal Service
Buck 65
Comedian David Cross
Sex Pistols’ founder Malcolm McLaren
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
60s soul legend Gino Washington
Psychedelic singer Roky Erickson
Los Angeles 70s group Sparks
Inuit throat singer, Tagaq (a frequent collaborator with Björk)
AND MANY MORE!

    1. It’s a benefit song and a satire of the west-centric benefit songs that we’ve heard (Do They Know It’s Christmas?). Have you listened to it? I’m completely in love with the tune and so excited to see these artists I love so much collaborating.

      1. No I haven’t heard of that one either.

So let me get this right, ALL of those artists are on this one song? How did they ever record that?

It wasn’t loading for me before (when I said sound before I mean the bands on it), so I’m just listening to it now.

        1. “Do They Know It’s Christmas” was a benefit single released in the 80’s and re-recorded last Christmas by a large group of popular artists.

I’m assuming different artists recorded parts of the songs in various locations, though it’s possible they all got together somewhere.
