Name ten of life’s simple pleasures that you like most, and then pick ten people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used.
1) A good book, no matter where or when.
2) Water from an actual spring. There’s nothing like water fresh from the ground. Incidentally, this is something I often had along with the following pleasure.
3) The scent of boiling maple. There’s nothing that reminds me more of time spent with my family than that.
4) Campfires. That’s another thing that reminds me of my family, because we often went camping.
5) Being under a clear and starry sky. If there is one thing I miss about living in the country, it’s the ability to see stars unobstructed.
6) Being in the woods.
7) A mild but windy day. There’s something in having my hair blown by the wind that I enjoy a lot.
8) Spending a day in bed for no reason but because it’s where you want to be.
9) Cats, because they are the perfect balance of evil and cute.
10) A fine mug of tea or coffee. There’s little so soothing.

Thank you for posting this. π I love your simple pleasures and they made me think about alot of things. Good things. π
I am never ever ever letting you get away, you are too fantastic!
I think I can live with that. You are far too fantastic yourself.
Not as fantastic as you are! *Kisses*
Hi there! I was looking at your profile and saw you have fairtrade chocolate and fairtrade coffee listed. I have heard of these from a few sources recently and wondered what exactly they are like? Could you explain, please? π
The quality of fairtrade coffee and chocolate is actually a side effect of their production. In most large scale productions of cocoa and coffee there is normally a person/organisation in charge of the farmers who deals with the confectionary/coffee corporation. Since cocoa and coffee grow in countries where people are often thankful of any work, the ruler of the farmer can pay them a pittance without too much complaint. As a result, the life of most farmers who grow coffee and cocoa is often poor and miserable.
Fairtrade coffee and chocolate aim to increase the quality of life of the farmer, by dealing with them directly with small scale contracts. The fairtrade stamp indicates that the farmers and workers are being treated fairly and properly paid for their work.
The result of the small scale contracts is a benefit to the consumer as well as the farmer and producer. The quality of the product is better due to the increased attention combined with the fact that while the producer is paying fairly, they are also hoping for an increased quality for the increased cost. Also, fairtrade products are nearly always organic (while the same is not true in reverse), which means less chemicals and a healthier production process. Fairtrade chocolate has a purer taste due to less fillers, while fairtrade coffee tends to have a full flavour without being excessively bitter.
IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE IDEA OF SOMEONE RECIEVING ONLY 25 CENTS FOR A DAY OF HARD LABOUR, SUPPORT FAIRTRADE!!! YOUR TASTE BUDS WILL THANK YOU!!
Wow, that was long, but I hope it answered your question π
Wow! I never realized that the farmers had it so rough! Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me. π Are these products also available in the United States, or is it only in Canada? I do not recall ever seeing it around here. I love both coffee and chocolate and it would be nice to know what I spend on it actually helps people. π
Yup, these products are available world wide!

In Canada, England and New Zealand (where I have lived) there is normally an organic section of major supermarkets that stock fairtrade products.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask away! I will do anything to try and convert more people to supporting fairtrade products (and organic, but that is another spiel)!!
