I have had the good fortune in this life to interview people like Sam Harris, who’s wonderful book The End Of Faith spent a long, long time on the New York Times best seller list, and who’s new book is Letter To A Christian Nation. But, after reading this article by Richard Dawkins, I am sorry, but I have to rant.
Is anyone still interested in this insanely FLAT approach to the (very real) problem of fundamentalism in religion? Flat, flat, flat. And as brilliant and eloquent as people like Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris are, they are persuading no one. And they never will. Because they, and the general contingency of their allies, REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT.
Stu has served it up again. Oh, wouldn’t it be nice if rationalists would stop the irrational denial of interiors in general and of development in particular?

Hay, I’m done with KW if you want him back sometime.
Yeah, I’ve been meaning to ask you about swapping back books. I’m in the midst of a long string of work, but any day after the 1st I’d be willing to meet up somewhere.
K – let’s talk about it after the first, I’m not sure what my schedule will look like then – but I’m sure we can work out a swap time.
Don’t even get me starting on Richard Dawkins. The man likes to write as if he was a revolutionary, and praises Darwin as the saviour of modern science, but is blind to the fact that he is as naive and blind as the Evangelical Christians he likes to criticise!!
Dawkin’s should have written “The Selfish Gene” and “The Blindwatchmaker” then quit while he was ahead!
