The Whole Story

Late last week I bought The Whole Story, a fantastic collection of digital comic books that is offered through a name your price model. It offers a tremendous value, with more than 850 pages of comics in the format of self-contained graphic novels.

One of the most exciting aspects of the collection is that it was produced by many creators, including Korean artist Nam Dong Yoon, who had not before been published in English. The diversity of storytelling and art styles makes for a rewarding reading experience and I valued being able to discover the work of new artists very much.

When I am writing this, there are 14 hours remaining in the sale of the books, so I strongly recommend giving it a try. There are a preview and a video available for getting a taste of the collection.

This collection includes new graphic novels from Ryan Estrada (Flight: Volume 4), Box Brown (The Survivalist) and the English-language debut of Nam Dong Yoon.

We’ve got new stories written by Ryan North (Adventure Time), Meredith Gran (Marceline and the Scream Queens), Jeffrey Brown (Clumsy), Malachai Nicolle (Axe Cop), Katie Cook (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic), Zach Weiner, KC Green, C. Spike Trotman, Audra Furuichi, Michael “Mookie” Terracciano, Anthony Clark, Shaenon Garrity, and Dorothy Gambrell.

We have strips written by Don Hertzfeldt (the Oscar-nominated director of Rejected), Doug TenNapel (creator of Earthworm Jim), David Malki (Machine of Death), David Hellman (the artist behind Braid), Nicholas Gurewitch, Erika Moen, Andrew Hussie, Rebecca Clements, Jessica Macleod, Gordon McAlpin, and Josh “The Comics Curmudgeon” Fruhlinger. It’s a who’s who of indie comics! So don’t miss out!
