Meredith Gran’s Octopus Pie has been one of my favourite webcomics for a while now. It’s a wonderful jumble of funny, touching and strange. The art is expressive, the characters frighteningly familiar and the story entirely engaging.

“Octopus Pie is an ongoing comic series about two women living in Brooklyn, NY – their jobs, social circles, and some problems.”

I was able to meet Meredith last weekend at DCAF and picked up the second print volume — which is great and available at http://www.topatoco.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TO&Product_Code=OP-LAWH&Category_Code=OP — and had a cat drawn in it (photo at https://plus.google.com/u/0/106034621886036830913/posts/KZxqyvGfhUL ).
