It took me a while to catch up but tonight I finished reading the wonderful 2012-2015 Hawkeye run by Matt Fraction and David Aja. The covers were brilliant and every one of the 22 issues is filled with character study, beautifully stylized art and a very human story. Hawkeyes Clint Barton and Kate Bishop weren’t characters I felt any investment in when I began reading but by the end they were both so fleshed out and vital that I count them among my favourite characters and this series as one I hold among the best comics I’ve read.
