August Star or Sao Tháng Tám, a 1977 Vietnamese film about the Japanese occupation of Vietnam, has been subtitled in English by Luna Nguyen of Luna Oi!, and is now available to stream in 2 parts on YouTube. I put together a playlist for easier watching.
I appreciated Luna’s translation of The Same River and this subtitling seems just as good. This is a film that doesn’t seem to be documented much in English, so having it brought forward is great.
