X-Men: Marvels Snapshots

In 2020 I read and thoroughly enjoyed X-Men: Marvels Snapshots #1 shortly after it was published. This week I read through it again and it holds up as one of the great single issues from Marvel.

In 2020 I read and thoroughly enjoyed X-Men: Marvels Snapshots #1 shortly after it was published. This week I read through it again and it holds up as one of the great single issues from Marvel. The one-shot was written by Jay Edidin, half of my favourite podcasting duo through Jay & Miles X-Plain the X-Men, and he and Miles put out an illuminating podcast episode, “No Story Is the Whole Story“, that makes a wonderful companion to the comic. Fantastic Four were one of the formative comics for me as a kid, so having them be featured so importantly in the story of Scott Summers’ early life resonated a lot for me. And the Peter Corbeau easter egg always makes me smile.
