The Last Mermaid #4

I’ve been delighted by Derek Kirk Kim’s The Last Mermaid since the first issue, but issue four felt like it kicked things into gear. The protagonist finally has someone to have conversations with and her motivations are opening up. If the promised 25-30 issues of this series materialize, this has been a great opening arc.

Panels featuring a mermaid and human in conversation, with the human using the Mr. Rogers quote, "Always look for the helpers."
I popped when I read the Mr. Rogers quote on this page!
A mecha transformed into a car-like vehicle being ridden by a caped figure driving through a desert.
I’ve been impressed by the landscapes that give such a strong sense of place to this comic.
