HeroQuest and Dungeons & Dragons have been at the fore for me this week, and the fediverse has been a nice grounding spot amid all of the gaming highlights.
This morning I played HeroQuest on the second map @Blueberrymess made for her 31 Mini Maps.
Yesterday Cloudcry the barbarian bested skeletons in a tomb and today Melody the elf survived an ambush by zombies in a cemetery.
I really like the touch of items left at the graves on this map. I imagined Melody mourning a recently buried loved one and adding to those items before being interrupted by the undead.
Today I was able to sit down for the sixth quest of First Light in HeroQuest.
The quest has a set piece battle where the players take over for one side of a battle between villains. Thankfully, that weakened the dragon enough for my heroes to quickly dispatch him, grab the Ring of Return, and scramble through the chambers to escape with their lives.
@Blueberrymess made a cabin for her third mini map. There was a hook in the details.
Our wizard Harmony returned home to his cabin and settled in for relaxation. That meant knitting a new loincloth for the barbarian and having a snack while reading a tome. As he finally kicked off his slippers to get into bed, his door was kicked in by orcs, who targeted him for his interference with their lord. A couple fire spells and a staff blow ended them.
I’ve been slowly grinding away at EarthBound Beginnings and made it to the train station, so I’ve been able to listen to “MOTHER,” She Wrote up through episode 5. The podcast continues to enrich my experience of the game.
@Blueberrymess released a garden for her fourth map this month. I finally got to play some HeroQuest on it today.
Echostone the dwarf is passionate about his garden and was tending to it after his recent adventuring. When some raiding orcs surrounded him while he was watering his cabbages, he leaped into combat and defended his precious plants.
