The war was a show of power, not to remove weapons

W A S H I N G T O N, April 25 — To build its case for war with Iraq, the Bush administration argued that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, but some officials now privately acknowledge the White House had another reason for war — a global show of American power and democracy.

Reason For War?

Middle East stability is not improving… Israel is demanding more “regime changes”, this time in Iran + Syria… The US is imposing an unpopular government on the Iraqis…

US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has said that his country has entered a new era in which it must pre-emptively seek out and prevent attacks by terrorists and terrorist states.

It may be Clinton vs. Bush in the next election! It seems Hillary may be persuaded to run against Evil Dictator Bush. I think it’d be a big relief to everyone if she or anyone else could remove him from power. But scary when you think about it. It could end up being 4 years of Bush, 8 of Clinton, 4 of Bush, and 8 more of Clinton. Who knows? As long as Evil Dictator Bush is gone one way or another I’ll be breathing easier.
