Today I took an interesting political test at Political Compass. It was quite interesting to learn much of what is included with the results. For instance, I was not aware that Gandhi was quite a racist, or that Ayn Rand was homophobic. Also, the American presidential candidates are all in the authoritarian right of the political spectrum, with Bush being the most so, with the noted exception of Al Sharpton and Dennis Kucinich. If you have been judging politics by left and right, this is a good test for you to take, because it shows how flawed a linear view is.
My results:
Economic Left/Right: -9.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.23
