Is not your first statement a classic example of racism? Whether it’s induced by folks like Bush and Hitler or more ingrained in social norms, it’s still the same evil, is it not?
I believe you have to place blame on a wide scale, across whole of the American (and essentially all of Western) culture. Media, leaders, religion and a host of other causes certainly contribute. One dangerous part of the equation is the 1/3 of Americans who are fundamentalist Christians, which is to me as dangerous as fundamentalist Islam.
I did anticipate a bias, that’s why I didn’t present the findings as hard fact and shared my skepticism. However, I have little doubt the findings of the study are innaccurate by less than %10.

That’s not exactly surprising, to be honest. I don’t know how to compare homophobia to racism. They’re likely equal evils in my eyes.
There are some pretty radical, Muslim fundamentalists / extremists.

I really don’t agree with this next step, but then again, I haven’t really agreed with much of anything the American government as instituted recently.
Fundamentalism abroad is proving to be very anti-productive. These new laws are the epitome of that.
Fundamentalism, in itself, is an uncivil and direct stab at the liberity and the equality the word “America” has become so intertwined with. They’re really working against themselves here, which either could be a very bad thing or a very good thing, as if the consequences of such actions lead to something very dreadful happening, maybe the other 51% of that nation will open their eyes and look to the other half for plausible solutions (generally speaking).
this in all honesty is not very surprising. Just watch CNN or Fox and you will see what the media feeds the american public.
Yeah, it’s not surprising, but surely troubling.
