lol It’s so funny how obsessed us Canadians are with this game. I just went to dinner and only about 20 or 30 people were there… almost everyone else was watching the game. But even those of us in the caff had a tv and radio to let us know about every moment of it. lol We take so much pride in a game. I’ve never been a big sports fan(basketball is the only sport I ever watched on a regular basis) but even I have been caught up in the Team Canada gold medal games… What is it about something as trivial as a game that seems to give us so much of out identity?

that’s how we arizonans are with our diamondbacks.
lol alright. There are people reveling in the streets here. It’s great
Heya
Indeed. As the Mount Saint Vincint Canadaian studies prof said when I went on the tour, “People associate us with amaricans, but the second anyone says ‘Oh, your an American’, we jump to say that we are not”
My point being, that we have no identity in the world, we’re just “North Amaricans” Since Hockey is about as canadian as you get, consitering we have all the greats, we’re forced to identify with Hockey, instead of, let’s say, the mighty Egele (sp).. And that’s my two cents!

Re: Heya
I really don’t think it can really be like that. There are a lot of cultural differences(many similarities as well, I know) and we are simply two different nations.
I think that as Canadians we have many unique attributesthat distinguish us from the world.
Re: Heya
Ah, good point, I suppose. Although I’ still agree with the Canadian Studies Prof. Canadian’s have no real identity. We’re as un-patriotic as they come (Although that seems to be changing more and more, ever since those “I am Canadian” beer commercials came out). Ah well… *gone*
