[Then & Now]

I’m updating on my parents’ computer since Ashley is making me a new wallpaper on my laptop and she wants it to be a surprise.

Everything’s going very well here. The house is quiet since Mom and Dad are doing some Christmas shopping and Ilea is working at the Co-op. It’s really quite nice, especially having Ashley here.

We’ve spent our time with much more comfort than excitement, but I think we both have enjoyed that much more. We’ve just been spending all the time we can together and claiming as much private time as we are able. Mostly we just talked to my parents when we weren’t just relaxing. I did introduce her to my Aunt Lucy, my Aunt Marrie, my Uncle Gerry, Aunt Sharon and their child, Hailey(the latter three visited last night and Hailey of course became the center of attention with her cuteness).

Thursday around noon Sascha Richer() and Sarah Skipper() visited for a couple hours. It was really nice to see them and talk after so long. I always miss them a lot. Since high school we haven’t hung out very much. They were happy to meet Ashley and I’m sure they liked her.

When my Mom arrived home we all got into the car and drove to Middle Musquodoboit to drop them off at the Pharmasave and then meet my Dad at his school. After leaving there we drove to Halifax. There we showed Ashley a few places before going Point Pleasant Park and the waterfront for some photos. I’m really hoping that they all turned out well. We ate dinner at The Engine Room in HSC. Both Ashley and I had chicken fajitas.

My parents decided to shop for a few hours so Ashley and I went to Park Lane to watch Lord of the Rings: Two Towers! 😀 It was a really great movie! The Ents, Gollum, batlle scenes, everything was just amazingly well done. It surpasses the first movie in so many ways and is my new favorite movie. Seeing it with Ashley definitely enhanced the experience for me.

While in Park Lane I bought Ashley a cute and soft dog beanie baby that she really liked.

Ashley brought “Peppermint Brickle” that she had made at home with her when she came. It was really, really good. Everyone who has tried it wants the recipe. 😀

She also brought “boiled peanuts”. No one here had seen them before, but they really aren’t bad, although an aquired taste… peanuts boiled in salt water… with a texture almost like a bean.

😀 One of the presents Ashley brought was a really nice teddy bear with a red scarf and gloves. It had been hers for a while so it was very sweet of her to have given it to me.

She also brought a cool pen that lights up and changes colours. It’s the coolest pen I’ve ever owned. 🙂

I got a lovely card from Alisha() on Friday. It was really sweet and had a drawing of she and I skating. 🙂 Thanks Alisha!!!

I also got an Outlanders graphic novel that I had ordered a week or two ago on ebay.

Angie, Poe’s webmaster sold me an awesome autographed Poe shirt from 1997. 😀 It’s duct tape, forest green, SIGNED BY POE and oh so Poenificent!

With all sincerity, this has been the greatest week of my entire life.

I’ll add more things about this week whenever I remember them… There are so many great memories.

Ashley will be posting some other photos tonight in her own journal, so stay tuned. 🙂
