The big surprise was that I actually passed(with a C) Discrete Structures I, a course I expected to fail, dispite my great efforts.
A big let down was that I failed Intro-Comp Org/Assemby Lang and just barely got through Principles of Microeconomics. Of course I have to retake Computer Science III next trem since I withdrew from it last term. My GPA needs much improvement.
However, I have a great feeling about this term. This winter break has toughened my resolve and inspired me to gather up my old tendencies from way back when I was the best and really break out.
I want to travel light.
I’m still in the process of getting rid of a lot of my old things… I have a huge box of stuff I’ll be putting up on ebay… from comics to sports cards to action figures, it all must go. My goal is to have everything I one fit into a modest sized car, and for all but my clothes, books and music to be able to fit in a backpack and a breifcase. I’m getting there.
I don’t need to have anything but the people I care for, no material things will ever make me happy, only the people I love will. So why not get rid of all the things that have no worth to me and focus all my energy and funds on attaining the future and freedom I want?
The best way to defy a world that places money ahead of people is to not participate in the consuming and to keep my voice clear.
True art, basic food, my basic black clothes, a place to sleep, communication with the ones I love, and transportation to be near them are all that matter which I can purchase. Everything else comes from personal determination, insight and Love.

Can I just say that I love your outlook?
🙂
Sure 🙂 And thanks.
Oh, my relatives still give me stuff like that, but it’s usually small things. Like necklaces…
I still have a 2m x 2m x 1m space at my parents’ place with stuff I own – mostly books, paper, ornaments and old toys from my childhood – that I’ll slowly pick away at until I can keep it all in one big box and store it away as a buried treasure of memories. Afterall, Lego is timeless and one day my own kids will have the wonder of building stuff with it to occupy their time.
All I’ve really bought for myself has been books, CD’s, concert tickets and a bit of clothing.
