I’ve been rereading House of Leaves, as any of you who really read what I write already know.
There are 5 pages in this book(389 – 393) that are especially touching. They are a letter from Navidson to his love, Karen. The letter is a mix of a will, a farewell and a love letter… It stands out amid a book filled with beautiful passages and dark, frightening ones as well. “there’s no second I’ve livedyou can’t call your own”. Navy is such a facinating character, but so is Karen, and all the rest for that matter… This is one book I wish all my friends would read. It’s just so deep and filled with meaning(even with the countless empty rooms?).
Read it.

I need to finish that book. I got it for my birthday in summer 2001 just after I saw Poe in Providence and met Mark, which was a fabulous experience. Anyway, I keep starting and then having to put it down for one reason or another. I think during spring break I’m really going to buckle down and read it.
Ok, I hope you’ll be able to finish it. It’s a wonderful book.
I’m very jealous that you got to meet Mark. He and Poe are two of my heros. They’re constant inspiration.
Where did you get that book? I never finished it when you let me read it (I know I is stupid ;] ) It will deffinatly be on of the first books that I get 🙂
I got mine at Chapters… They should still have copies.
