A Political Q + A

1. Of what party (if any) are you a member? None, but the ideals of Canada’s NDP party most closely follow my own.

2. Are your general political motivations more related to economy (ie free trade versus socialism), rights and authority (ie authoritarianism versus libertarianism), foreign policy specifically, law and order, or other (please state)? My political motivations are generally focused on social and environmental issues, though I have a keen interest in all aspects of government.

3. What non-war-related activist causes interest you (ie worker solidarity)? Environmental issues, media reform and poverty

4. Do your spiritual/religious beliefs affect your political beliefs? Yes, because my spiritual beliefs rely heavily on compassion and thus makes many political policies ill suited to that.

5. Are you opposed to all wars or just this one? I’m opposed to all wars, though I admit defence is necessary if a nation is seriously threatened.

6. How much do you distrust US foreign policy (is this unjust war a fluke or one in a long series)? I distrust it greatly for numerous reasons, and certainly more greatly under the current administration. This war seems obviously to the ultimate goal of empire building.
