Intel® Pentium® M Processor 710(1.40GHz/400MHz FSB) 15.4in WSXGA+ (wide screen for DVD watching and general benefit)
512MB,DDR,333MHz 1 Dimm (easy to upgrade down the road)
60GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive (small, because I have plenty of external storage)
8x CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) Drive
72 WHr Primary Battery / 48WHr Additional Battery for Modular Bay (a self-estimated 6-7 hours)
128MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 PRO
S-Video: 7-pin mini-DIN connector / Multimedia Cable Kit (for using my laptop on the big screen at work)
Dell® Wireless 1350 Internal Wireless (802.11b/g, 54Mbps)
New Dell 2350 Wireless G Router
Dell 922 All-in-One Photo Printer (because it was free)
Now you know the device through which I’ll be communicating to you with in 7-10 days. I’m more than a little excited at the increased mobility and flexibility the new system will allow me, especially when it comes to writing at work, where I currently rely on my Sony Clie for anything that needs to be typed.

i have a dell inspiron 5150. they no longer even carry it. it’s the 5160 now. mine is 2.8ghz, 60G, 512 ram, 24x cd burner, 15″ screen, NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 video card.
dells are awesome. except the financing. :p
I currently have an Inspiron 2500, which has obviously been phased out.
I actually quite like Dell’s financing plan. That they’ll allow me to pay it off in a few months without interest is very nice.
yeah but im on a 48 month payment plan. they’re a bitch.
I’m on the same plan. I can pay it off whenever I want without incuring interest. I made sure of that when I purchased it.
That new computer looks awesome. I want one!!
I’m really excited by it. It’s going to be nice to have wireless capabilities… I might use my living room when I don’t have guests then.
The 2500 has served me very well until this year. I had no complaints at all, really. My first non-Commodore computer was an Acer.
I have an Inspirion 1000. I just got it a few months ago, no complaints except I can’t play games (which is probably a good thing, being a student and all).
What kind of place to you work in? I work in the Hospital(s) and take my laptop to work with me often. I think it’s against the policy, but it’s not in the policy and no one has complained to me yet (thus I write entire term papers in one 12 hour shift).
You can’t play games, or you can’t play recent games? Busting out some roms is a sure way to make a less-than-current PC fun game-wise.
I work at a hotel that is currently closed for repairs. Basicly I’m a security guard. I’ve been encouraged to bring video game machines to work to play on the big screen TV, so I’m sure having a laptop would be condoned.
Hmph, basically I can’t play Doom 3 or Half-Life 2.
Not that I’m into such games, I just have a big interests in graphics and wanted to see (first hand) why they were being hailed as the most graphically advanced games of all time (not to mention they’re probably fun as hell).
I’ll live though, too old for games anyway. Don’t think I ever really played them since I was 16 (so it’s not a huge drawback to the laptop).
Aw, I am so glad you were able to get a new computer. I really need to get one soon myself. 🙁
‘Tis pretty!
