Monopoly as it exists to day is one of the board games I rarely want to play. It originated as a game that taught the dangers of land ownership and a proposed land tax to solve social problems. The cooperative elements of the game and the philosophical stance disappeared when the game was stolen and copyrighted, morphing into the bad game it is today.
