I play Dungeons and Dragons most Sundays with some of my friends and the game has held a lot of meaning and value for me. In Of Dice and Men the history and significance of the game are explored in a very accessible way. It follows the roots of the game from prehistory, through to its creation and on to the most recent, best incarnation. David imbues the story with an enthusiasm for D&D and it’s made so much richer by his personal experiences. I loved D&D before but now I love it with a better appreciation of its context and of the value it has for generations of players.
