I’ve enjoyed Erik Davis’ deep-dive writings on cultures, religions, and experiences for years but didn’t know he had a podcast. Even more exciting than knowing he has been ‘casting is that he interviewed one of the folks who developed Dungeons & Dragons 5e. It’s a great interview that touches on how D&D now better embraces diverse gender and sexual identities, how playing relates to esoteric experiences and the balance of control and chance.
“We discuss identity, the multicultural multiverse, Eastern Orthodoxy, and the sacred absurdity of terrible dice rolls.”
