Leonard Cohen’s voice has been present in all of my life. Some of my earliest memories of music were his songs, with “Closing Time” coming to mind as one that was played often in my home. His novel Beautiful Losers was important to me when I read it later. I grew to especially love his later albums and live performances in the later years of his life. After his passing, I didn’t expect to find anything new from him, but there’s a new album forthcoming and this single is every bit as powerful as his other songs.
