Avengers & Moon Girl

In June I picked up Miles Morales & Moon Girl and read it to my daughter. The next standalone issue following Moon Girl’s search for Devil Dinosaur brings in the Avengers, and it’s a weirder issue. Avengers & Moon Girl is heavier on strange Marvel elements, like the High Evolutionary and X-Men on the moon, so I feel like there are missed opportunities here to make things accessible to new readers. Much of this is a Captain Marvel team up rather than a full Avengers story, and keeping things limited in that way is probably for the best. There are some fun moments in this issue and the core of this story works.

Even after a team-up with Miles Morales to scout Brooklyn for her missing T-Rex, Moon Girl is still missing Devil Dinosaur. And now she has a wonky DD clone to try and stabilize for fear of explosive repercussions. But the Avengers have found some rogue dinosaur activity and need her to come with them right away to fix it – from Wakanda to the moon!
