I went out for a run Saturday morning. At the 8 km mark I had run along the waterfront, through Point Pleasant Park, and was returning across some train tracks when I tripped. My left big toe struck the rail, then my left knee hit the pavement. I tried to twist to protect my front, landed on my left elbow, and then stopped my motion with my right elbow. Each of those impact points were scraped, but my left elbow was left swollen. It’s still not back to full range of motion, but the pain has mostly subsided.
I made it to Monster Comic Lounge for Free Comic Book Day on Saturday. I mostly picked up comics for Celestine, but got a couple I was interested in, including a preview of the upcoming Unico reimagining. I bought Kelly Thompson’s new comic, Black Cloak, and a pen and paper game, Paper App Dungeon, on a whim.
Yesterday I received real mail! @MidniteLibrary sent me a postcard and a zine, making my day. I’m looking forward to reading his Games on My Shelf (I Have Not Played Yet) during lunch.
On my walk back to work after picking up my new glasses, I saw hundreds of slugs crossing the sidewalk I was moving along. It was during a pause in the rain that has been falling all day. I’ve seen worms fill sidewalks after rain before but never slugs in this number.
