I had a lot of catchup at the end of this week, transitioning from my rainy neighbourhood to a UFO-focused one.

Water Wheel Block

A block in The Rain Sector is taken up by a cubic building that holds many water wheels that are driven by redirected rain. Electricity from the wheels powers the apartments in the block, and residents have developed a passion for using multicoloured lights to create patterns and messages.

The Snail Boat

A house boat docked in The Rain Sector is filled with snails of many kinds. The many windows of the boat give a clear view of the colourful snails who live inside. The boat became devoted to rehabilitation of injured snails after a malacologist began caring for a single snail on the boat. Residents across the city know to take any ailing snails to the boat to help them recover.

The Dancing in the Rain Statues

A courtyard in The Rain Sector has seven statues of goblins happily dancing and holding their hands up to catch rain. As rain falls on the statues, it flows into grooves on the ground that lead to a central fountain.

The Saucer District

On the opposite bank of Slow Snake River from The Rain Sector is The Saucer District, where structures are built to resemble flying saucers of early alien stories. The district has an uncanny appearance, as though hundreds of alien crafts have landed together in one area.

Hopper Club

A white flying saucer with a black centre line holding red and clear windows sits near the bridge to The Saucer District. Inside is a popular club serving unusual drinks and foods. The club is known for being frequented by unusual people, even by the standards of this city. Every imaginable kind of person and a few unimaginable ones can be spotted at the club, and nothing seems out of place here. This saucer is a replica of an amusement park gift shop, and photos of the original are displayed prominently.

The Purple Discus

One flying saucer that resembles a discus can be seen from anywhere in The Saucer District because it is elevated above the ground by magical levitation. A magic school run by wizards with unconventional methods has been holding classes within for years. Students at the school delight in using their magics to cause various other saucers in the neighborhood to fly, despite having no non-magical means of flight.

The Saucer Factory

Inspired by Futuro houses, a factory in The Saucer District builds similar prefabricated saucer-shaped buildings. The buildings have come to dominate the neighborhood, and residents fill wait lists for new homes. The factory itself is a green saucer-shaped building and is the largest structure in the district.
