The Tobu Tobu Girl Deluxe OST feels like a classic Game Boy soundtrack, with great flourish but authentic rendering of the sound. It’s great to have playing in the background throughout the day to lend some bounce to mundane life.

Back in April I backed the Tobu Tobu Girl Deluxe Kickstarter and today received the early access ROM to play. It’s a very fun and polished game, even in this build that’s not quite final. One thing that stands out about it is the excellent soundtrack by potato-tan.

The Tobu Tobu Girl Deluxe OST feels like a classic Game Boy soundtrack, with great flourish but authentic rendering of the sound. It’s great to have playing in the background throughout the day to lend some bounce to mundane life.

Tobu Tobu Girl Deluxe is an enhanced version of the original featuring improved, full-color graphics and will be fully compatible with both the Game Boy and Game Boy Color. 

The in-game soundtrack was recorded on authentic hardware, using an original DMG-01 model Gameboy (backlit, prosound mod). 

GBS format included as a bonus item! Special thanks to eggboycolor for the GBS conversion programming.

  3. Tobu Tobu Girl Deluxe, a new Game Boy Color game, has been released after a successful Kickstarter campaign and the release of a great soundtrack. I wrote about the game enthusiastically before and I’m still very positive about it. It’s a fun take on action platforming that has a ton of polish.

    The game is available as a free ROM download and can be purchased on cart.

  5. I’ve enjoyed potatoTeto’s music since first hearing the Tobu Tobu Girl soundtrack. His latest track is from a project in tribute to Gumi (a Vocaloid voice used in the song), Gumicollab 2020. It’s an endearing song and the lyrics are intriguing.
