Celestine has been excitedly looking through Dungeons & Dragons: Dungeonology for a few days. Her exuberance means she needs to be reminded to take care when interacting with the books, maps, pages and other elements of the pop-up book, but it’s great to see her enjoy a book so much.

I just discovered The Prisoner is available to stream free on Tubi. What a delight to see The Village again. Be seeing you.

I’ve read quite widely from American, Canadian and Japanese comics, but there are many countries for which I feel I have basically no understanding of comics culture. The latest episode of the Uncanny Magazine (@UncannyMagazine) podcast has a reading of the fantastic “Bad Doors” by John Wiswell. It includes Covid as part of the story in a matter of fact way alongside the fantastical horror and it fits so well.

Garbage and Screaming Females’ cover of “Because The Night” is still one of the best things either band has done.

Screaming Females have a great new album, Desire Pathway, out last week and the lead single “Mourning Dove” is also superb.

I visited one of my oldest friends tonight to play games and tried Blokus for the first time. I enjoyed getting an early sense of strategy in this first game.
